Dorothy Dandridge at Banstead Manor!

A wonderful evening of friendship and good food was enjoyed by Banstead Rotary Club at a buffet supper hosted by its Corporate Member Fiona at Banstead Manor.

Members and partners attended the event. Jane also welcomed Toni to the Club and wished her well in her new role.

After we had eaten Thiery showed a video she had created with a detailed talk on the subject of Dorothy Dandidge, the American actress, singer and dancer, who was also the first African-American film star to be nominated for The Academy Award for Best Actress. This was followed by a lot of questions and answers which bore testimony tothe extensive preparation she had undertaken on the topic. Jane thanked everyone involved for the delicious buffet, “It was a wonderful meal in a lovely setting and good to share fellowship and build on our relationships! Many thanks to Fiona for organising this evening and Thiery for an excellent talk.”
